Changing Room

In June I had the opportunity to occupy an empty shop premises in Leigh-on-Sea for a month – I showed a recent drawing series ‘Showgirls: Throwing Old Selves Off Like Underthings’, some small scale paintings based on shop mannequins and a much earlier series of mixed media drawings from 2004 that gave their title to the show: ‘Changing Room’ – these images suggest the transformative and ambiguous qualities of the tailor’s dummy. They appeared in my book ‘Dummy’ in 2010.
